“The purpose of education is to make better human beings with skill and expertise. Enlightened human beings can be made by teachers.” Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

The words of the visionary President perhaps encapsulate best the goals of the National Education Policy, 2020 and the role that the teachers would have to play in the new context. With the thrust on multidisciplinary courses that would invite critical and innovative thinking, ability to adapt and create a citizenry of global learners and performers, the onus on the teachers have increased manifold. The need of the day is also to create a trained set of teachers with ability to match the goals envisioned in the NEP, 2020. Therefore, it gives me great pleasure to announce the collaboration of Bahona College with the Post Graduate Training College (IASEO Jorhat and enter into an MOU with them to start the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (TEP). We have received the letter of intent dated-27/01/2023 and we are trying to fulfil the required conditions to this end and we will shortly be admitting the first batch of students in this academic year 2023-2024. We welcome new entrants to this programme and together we shall create a team of dedicated, efficient and empathetic teachers.
